Disneyland 2010

Recently we went to Disneyland for Tommy's 3rd birthday. Its a tradition for us to go just before the kids 3rd birthday. This way they still get in free, but we get to celebrate a special occasion. It was the most last minute trip ever. Bryan changed jobs and had some time off so we took advantage of the time and planned a quick trip. We took the kids out of school which for them made the trip even better! And Tommy was the most perfect age to go. He loves all the Disney characters especially Buzz Lightyear. We had such a great time. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel which was perfect because the monorail dropped us off just steps away from our hotel. We spent three days at both parks, we wore the kids out completely. We even wore Nicci out before lunch on the first day. Tommy had a great time seeing all the Disney Magic, he loved all the rides and even went on the Matterhorn, and Splash Mountain. Nathan loved all the roller coasters. In fact he loved them so much that he couldn't take Its A Small World. We took him on Its A Small World after Bryan took him on Space Mountain and when we got off the boat he said very seriously "I hate boat rides!"
Joey and Nicci we able to go on the bigger rides while we took the little kids on the kiddy rides. Joe had such a great time trying all the roller coasters he hated two years ago. I'm glad he was able to enjoy the rides with his dad. He went on all of them with Bryan except Tower of Terror (Nathan of course loved it). The time was so perfect, no one was at the park. On Wednesday and Thursday the lines were like 5 min. long and Friday there was a grueling 20 min. wait.
It was really such a great time. And for the first time EVER I got to stop and see the Princesses! And I even got pictures of Ava with them.
Tuesday we picked the kids up from school and surprised them with this trip, picked up Nicci and drove to Disneyland.
Here are a few pictures from our trip

Ok my two most funny stories of our trip (both involve Joe)

Story 1: Night two we are sleeping away. Its about 2:00 am and I hear someone trying to come in the door. I ask Bryan if he latch the safety latch, but he's so asleep he just mumbles. So I get up and slowly walk to the door and just as I get about 5 feet away Joe walks in the room. We were both surprised me more so I think, no I am sure. I ask him what he was doing outside and he responded with "I was getting something to drink but I forgot my key", then he went into the bathroom and then crawled back in bed. When I asked him about it the next morning he had no memory of getting up at all.
Ok that was so scary but since everyone is safe it really was super funny.

Story 2: We went to Toontown met Mickey and decided to go on the Roger Rabbit ride. We had to park the stroller and take Tommy and Ava out. I think Joe didn't think it was going to take us THAT long so he went ahead. Then seeing how short the line was he I am sure thought he could go on the ride then get off and go again with us. Well by the time we got to the ride to get on we found that the ride was broken. Not knowing if Joe was on the ride or not we started calling him and were waiting around to see if he was one of the riders evacuated. We finally got ahold of him and yes he was on the ride waiting to be escorted out. So after we found out he was on the ride Nicci asked "So are we gonna go?' We told him we were going to wait for Joe to get off the ride then we would go find another ride. He then said "I know, but how long are we going to wait?" We explained that we would wait until he was off the ride
So I thought it was so funny that he was so antsy to get on another ride that he didn't want to wait for Joe to get off the broken ride.

We had such a great time. I am so glad that Bryan forced me to book this trip. (I drug my feet and searched out the very best deal. I don't think we could have gotten a better deal. Well I KNOW we couldn't have because if there was one out there I would have found it. I searched and compared packages right down to the value of the "freebees" that each company offered)
