With anxieties eating away at him and the uneasy thought of begining a new school year with a new teacher and all new kids Joseph went off to school this morning with a big smile on his face. He received a blessing from Bryan last night before bed and he prayed himself before going to sleep. This morning he woke up and got right back into his school routine without a fight. He even told me during breakfast that he wanted to get to school right away, "he forgot what his school looked like and wanted to meet his teacher." He wore all new gear, (shirt, shoes, shorts, haircut, backpack, and even a new lunch box with two new water bottles). I took pictures of him outside the house and then we hopped in the car and drove down the street. What chaios! We went to our normal drop off location and he jumped out of the car. "Hey Joseph, wait don't you want me to walk you to class?" I cried. " No mom, I'm fine! See you after school." he yelled out as he ran after a friend to his class. What is going on? just a few months ago I walked him to class and from class! What is going on? Is it true, is my baby (well not so much a baby anymore) growing up. Its times like these that I love but truly hate. I know he is a big kid and needs to be a big kid, but just the same I want him to be a baby still. I am truly happy that he is gaining more independence even though it may take me a minute to get over it, I really love it. He is a special spirit from our Heavenly Father! I am so proud of him for his ability to overcome such challenges he has had in his life. I know this year is gonna be great for him and that he will rock!
