Introducing

Jacob Daniel Bryan Howard
born April 17, 2013

Six weeks after we moved I found out I was pregnant. We joke that there is something in the water here. I am so happy and feel so lucky and blessed that we have another baby in our house. We were all very excited to know he was coming into our lives.
A quick run down of the days up to his birth as it unfolded. . .
I went in for my regular appointment on April 10th, ready to have a baby ( I was dilated at my March 26th visit)
I had high blood pressure so my doctor had me come back Friday to check for a induction on Monday April 15th. No such luck, everything was fine (which was a good thing), but he did schedule me for a April 17th induction :)
Joseph babysat Nathan, Tommy and Ava while we went to the hospital.
7:00 am-check into the hospital
7:30 doctor broke my water and they began the pitocin
shortly after they did the epidural
and then . . .
It felt like nothing was happening
I texted my sister and told her, this baby will never come out, I'm not having strong contraction, in fact i had been dozing off and in and out of sleep. I woke up and saw the nurse and decided I'd complain a little that it was taking forever for anything to happen.
10:30 after wining a bit about nothing happening, the nurse decided to "check" to see how I was doing. Her response was "oh, you are a 10, let me call the doctor" just then he walked in and started moving things around. I looked at Bryan and said I need you, its time.
The doctor said "next contraction push"
contraction, I don't know when I am having one
so during the next contraction the nurse told me when it was time to push
about 4 pushes later (AND NO PAIN)
Jacob slid right out and they placed him on my chest. Bryan cut the cord (hehe)
and I held Jacob.
Having a baby in Idaho is so different then in California
They let me hold him for about an hour or so after he was born, then they took him to weigh and measure him.
