So, found out Ava is

Colic, 

and that's why she cries so much.

 I hate it, 

and not just because she cries or even keeps me up for hours during the night, but because there is nothing I can do about it. We are giving her gripe water, asadopholis, and I cut out ALL dairy from my diet. But she seems to get no relief. So last night we were up at sometime before 4am. We rocked, bounced, rubbed her tummy, talked to her, watched tv, patted her back, and tried some tummy time nothing seemed to work. 

During all the commotion Tommy woke and and immediately went to her and would not leave her side. At one point she laid with her head on my pillow and he laid his head next to her's; then grabbed her hand and just laid there with her 

holding hands. 

He was able to provide her some comfort even though it was very brief.
